FAQ

Questions, answered.

What Plumb is, how we work with your data and tools, and what it takes to get started.

The basics

A team. You get the numbers you need; we build and run everything behind them. No software to learn or operate.

Ad platforms show their own ROAS. Your CRM and billing show customers and payments. Each is half the story. We reconcile them into your real ROI, CAC, and LTV, on your definitions, not a template you bend to fit.

For growth & marketing

Yes. Subscription ROI depends on billing cycles, refunds, trials, churn, plan, cohort, and country. We model it to your logic, not a generic formula.

Yes. CAC, LTV, ARPU, churn, refund rates, and performance by cohort, plan, country, channel, and campaign. So you see which spend actually works, not just which platform claims the credit.

No. No honest data partner can promise performance; that comes down to your product, offer, and execution. What we promise is a clear, trustworthy view of what’s working, so you decide with fewer blind spots.

For finance & leadership

We reconcile ad platforms, CRM, billing, and finance into one shared set of metric definitions. Every team stops working off its own export and starts from the same numbers.

Yes. Access is set at the user, dashboard, and entity level. Leadership sees the whole portfolio; a brand lead sees only their brand. Same logic underneath, filtered by role.

Yes. If your team lives in exports and spreadsheet reconciliations, we automate most of it, and give back the hours spent stitching numbers together.

For data & technical teams

Every ad channel (Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok, LinkedIn) plus billing and revenue systems (sticky.io, Stripe, Shopify, Salesforce, HubSpot) and your warehouse. If it has an API or exportable data, we connect it.

Yes. Already on BigQuery, AWS, Azure, Looker, Power BI, or Tableau? We build around it. No warehouse yet? We design one that fits, with no forced migration.

Yes. We work inside your own cloud on least-access principles: users restricted by role, entity, and team, with a clear record of who sees what. Sensitive data stays contained.

That’s usually why teams call us. Mismatched IDs, duplicate records, broken campaign mapping, numbers that don’t tie out. We map, clean, and reconcile it into something you can decide on.

Working with Plumb

An engineer can build pipelines. The harder part is everything around them: metric definitions, platform and billing logic, QA, access control, monitoring, and support. In practice, one hire spends most of their time keeping pipelines alive instead of explaining the numbers. You get the whole function from us, often for less than one senior engineer’s loaded cost.

No. If you have a data team, we extend it. If you don’t, we are it. Either way, you don’t build the function yourself.

Very little. We handle the pipelines, the modeling, and the reporting. Your real job is the first conversation, where you tell us how your business defines its numbers.

Based on size, days to weeks, not months. We start with a focused first phase, then expand.

We keep it running and change with you. Pipelines monitored, definitions adjusted, new channels and reports added, and alerts when key numbers move.

Two parts: a one-time build fee to connect your sources, model your metrics, backfill history, and stand up your reporting; then a monthly managed fee for monitoring, maintenance, and new work. Priced to your data and needs, not per seat, so your fifth user or your fiftieth never costs more.

The warehouse, pipelines, and models live in your infrastructure, so it’s all yours. No lock-in, and nothing you can’t take with you.

Book a discovery call. We learn your sources, your reporting today, and the decisions you’re trying to make, then recommend the highest-value first phase. Bring your hardest reporting question and we’ll tell you how we’d reconcile it.
